On October 17th, 2009, an abandoned truck was found in Latimer County, northwest of Red Oak, Oklahoma and the Sans Bois mountain range. Without jumping to conclusions, police first assumed it to be a stolen vehicle but grew suspicious when they discovered it’d actually been there for a handful of days and was full of personal belongings.

They would come to find out it belonged to the Jamison family… and they’d been missing for 9 days.

Bobby and Sherilynn Jamison were in their early 40’s living in Eufala, Oklahoma in 2009. They had a 6 year old daughter Madyson and a beautiful, healthy dog named Maisie. Sherilynn had a 12 year old son from a previous marriage named Colton who she saw every few weeks. In just the past July, Sherilynn had been hospitalized over a failed suicide attempt and in the custody hearing, Colton chose to live with his father, testifying that his mother behaved strangely and often depressed.

It’s clear that the couple had their fair share of ups and downs. Bobby was injured in a car accident in 2003, leaving him with chronic back pain while Sharilynn suffered from bipolar disorder. She had been prescribed medication but her condition has been described as poorly…
