Kenneka Jenkins- The Girl in the Freezer

A 21st birthday party turned left us all wondering how a girl got stuck in an abandoned commercial freezer.

On the night of September 8th, Irene Roberts arrived at the crown plaza hotel at around 11 pm to start setting up for her 21st birthday party. A short while later people begin dropping in, it was a slow and steady trickle, not reaching a peak until around 2 am.

At around midnight, 19 year old Kenneka Jenkins called Irene from outside of the hotel. She was asking about where to park and how to get to the room. Riding with her were her friends Shamiya, Monifah and Bre Bre all in Kenneka’s mom’s car.

This party had it all, there was drinking, drugs, but only that one hotel room, room 926. It’s just a regular size room so it was cramped inside with a lot of people spilling out into the hallways and balcony.

At about 2:30, Irene used Monifah’s phone to start a Facebook live video, something she does all the time. The camera was kept mainly on herself and she told us that she was on ecstacy, messing around with the phone because of poor connection, and just not paying attention…
